Cams

I already posted this in the 4 gen section but I thought I would ask the racers:

Do any of u guys mod their engine at all (not bolt ons)?

I can't find any thing on heads or cams for my 99' maxima

I have been told that cattman makes a set but their $1,200
-what kind of gains can i expect from these? any one use em?

Also, has any one heard about a variable intake? I saw something about it but now i can;t fid it.

O yea, is there a turbo for the maxima all i found was a supercharge and it only had 6 lbs boost for $4,500.

No one to my knowledge has opened up their engine on an N/A maxima. Only the FI guys on this board have.

Cattman doesn't make cams, they sell them. JWT is the company who makes them. $1200 is for 4 cams. You aren't going to find any cheaper, unless you send some cores to ISKY, Crower, Schneider, etc.

No one really knows what sort of gains they get on an N/A car because no one has them on an N/A car. I've been meaning to call JWT because I'm sure they've tested them on an N/A car at some point in their development.

Lots of us have the variable intake.

There are 2 turbo kits out for the maxima, check out the Turbo/Supercharged forum.

The stillen SC is the only SC out. Changing the boost is as simple as changing the pulley. Then you'll need more fuel of course. Check the turbo/SC forum.

I went to the JWT site and i was wondering if they make more for the 4th gen then what they list.

thats all really i think with the basic info u gave me i'll be able to figure the rest out. (eventualy lol)
