well as some of you may know, i am looking to run a 13 second pass without the use of boost or juice. i am close at 14.302. my setup on that day was...
full interior...removed spare and jack
street tires
intake, Y, UDP, ECU, MEVI
65 degree day, very sunny...track temps could have been in the 80's
i have recently mounted a set of BFG drag radials on my 15in. sawblades. anyone have any feedback on drag radials vs. full on slicks? i want to be able to drive my car to the track without having to swap out tires, thus making my choice on drag radials an easy one. my question is...knowing that i have run 14.3 in full trim, should i have expectations of running a high 13 with new setup of a)drag radials and b)removed front and rear seats
can i shave 3-4 tenths by getting the sticky tires to hook up with a hotter launch and reduced weight?
Paul I think its very possible. If you can shave .2tenths off your 60ft, don't know what that is though? Make sure your dr's are really warmed up-follow man. suggestions. And stiffen up the rear to avoid weight transfer. FYI-I would take out the interior before you go. It might not make much difference in E.T. but at least you don't have to keep up with the ish at the track. Good luck

last time out the track i went to was an absolute mess, my best 60 was high 2.3 and i still ran 14.4. @ 99.

your trap speeds are phenominal! you should be able to run 13's. i ran at atco this past tues night and i was getting 14.3s. my launches weren't that great this time due to a very sticky track. i bogged every launch with 2.2 60's. hopefully next time the track won't be so crowded and i'll have more passes.
Drag radials probably won't cut it, while they are better than street tires they suck compared to slicks. Cartest shows that your car should run 14.2s @ 97-99mph with a 2.2x 60' assuming race weight is ~3200lbs. With a 1.9x 60' cartest shows a 13.8s @ 99-100mph given the same weight. If your going for 13s get the lightest rims you can and throw some slicks on!

I don't think DRs alone will shave off the .3-.4 you are looking for. I bet more like .15-.25 seconds. I only run .35s faster on full slicks than on street tires.
What are your traps usually. 97-99 is a big range. If you are above 99 consistently I can see it happening with your current setup and the weight reduction.
From taking NOTHING out of the car to take all the things out like seats, spare, jack, I only drop .1 second, and I gained about .5mph.
All I can say is good luck. Air down the drag radials to about 18psi when you get to the track, get the tires a slightly wet, get about 5' out of the water box, do a 10 second burnout, and then roll to the line. The 10-second burnout and rolling to the line is what BFG recommends. Don't do any "dry hopping" after the burnout.
Why the 235/60s on the 15s? Aren't those a bit taller and heavier than the 215/60s?
With better hooking tires, reduced weight, sticky track, and a cold night, you possibly could eek out a 13.999. Your MPH is there, it's you initial 100' of acceleration that's killing you. I know how you feel though (look at the sig)
I'll just be very happy with a 14.2@99mph at 1100'. I'm going to the track tommorrow night, weather permitting. I've gone ahead and threw on my HKS hybird intake since I've never tested it with the MEVI/JWT. If the weather holds, the temp (lower 50s), low humidity, and baro pressure could be ideal. The track has been hooking hard lately. Fingers are crossed.

235/60 and 225/50 are the only sizes remotely close to the stock size on 15's i had 225/50's on backorder for the longest time and they told me they arent expecting them anytime soon so i went ahead and got the 235/60's. thanks for the good luck wishes...looks like i will be crossing my fingers for no rain before i can cross them for 13's. i just hope to get some clean runs in and see what happens.
btw--good luck at the track.

Remove the AC belt. If you want, find a way to get colder air to the intake. Maybe reroute your intake to a removed headlight. Much like this: http://www.javay.com/bbs/CAIramair.jpg
Make your front tire pressure to 18 psi and rear to about 45psi. Remove all seats and gut your trunk. I would say to advance your timing, but that's a VE thing.

i hit up atco raceway this past thursday afternoon and it wasn't very crowded at all. i was able to run 8 times. my best time for the evening was 14.05 (see timeslip forum). that's a new PR for me. i smoked the tires on two runs (14.8, 15.1). i had three 14.1's, a 14.2, 14.3 and a 14.4 with a lot of wheelspin against a newer mustang gt conv. i still won that race of course. you guys with the MEVI and JWT ECU have phenominal trap speeds. my car is lacking in power. i'm not sure if my car can break the 13 second barrier without adding more mods. maybe i'll just take out a chunk of metal next time lol. this might be it for a while...
