Not an expet here. I have only pulled a 2.2X 60 foot a couple times. The way I improved from a 2.4X was just trying to lauch at different rpms and feathering the clutch. A lower psi on the front tires will help a bit. I just takes practice. I found 3k rpms with 3/4 throttle and modulating the clutch worked for me, but I still have room for improvement. A lot has to do with weather and how sticky of a track you run at. There are guys pulling 2.1X on street tires so I know I can do better.
This is assuming you have a manual tranny??

Buy some slicks! If you really wanted to run a better time, don't bother with street tires because they suck. Buy some lightweight 15in wheels with some 22x8x15 MT slicks. You can get the rims from any junkyard and the slicks from here.

Radials are the biggest cause of wheel hop there is. I have never gotten wheel hop on slicks.

Radials are also the biggest cause of tranny damage because of hop.

Get some light 16" wheels and it'll be much better.
i think a member blubyu2k2 or something like that ran 15s on his 2k2 with slicks

15's will fit on the front you just need the right wheel. Remember its virtually impossible to get slicks in any other size than 15's so if you want traction you don't have much choice.
