Searching for Octane Rating Higher than 93

I have been trying to find any gas stations in the Mississippi,and Louisiana area that sell gas with a higher rating than 93. As a matter of fact I would love to find 94. If anyone in the MS or LA and even in some of the southern states have used or know of any gas stations, please post back here and include the city, state and gas station name.

unless you raise your compression... run nitrous... or are boosted, higher than 93 octane will not help you. if it means that much to you though, check out small airports near you. a friend of mine with a 911 used to get 100+ octane from little air strips outside of town. or try octane boosters... don't know how well they work though.

Like J said, unless you hear pinging, are running 11:1 compression, are boosted or running NO2, anything above 93 octane can actually hurt performance. See, in order to get high octane numbers, oil companies use additives to increase the octane rating. This helps the knock index, which means less knock for you. Unfortunately, more additives means less actual gasoline per gallon. Less actual gasoline means a smaller amount of explosively combustible fuel. Which in turn means less power. If you are boosted or have NO2 though, the loss in power is offset by the huge gain in power that is realized when you are able to turn up the boost without knock. Nevertheless, if you have good reasons, the Sunoco near me has 94 octane and the race track has something like 116 if you want to go crazy.

On Altimas.net someone actually posted a really good article on how the 3.5's were tested on 94 octane.

what was the result? more HP and better times? or the other way around? also, the 3.5 vq is a differnet engine than the 3.0 vq... so would the results be the same?

sorry to bust your balls. but 1 octane does nothing for performance or anything else for that matter. at least nothing that anyone could ever fu ckin measure

The 1 octane wouldn't give you any appreciable gain and to answer another question, no, I don't believe that anyone has spent the money to dyno on 94 octane. People have dynoed on 89 octain and have lost up to 10hp because of the decreased timing.
