Removing headlight for better air flow..will it work??

Sup all after a recent visit to the track i saw a few of the honda guys remove one of their tail lights for better air flow to the intake...it would make sense to do it on a s/c car since the blower itself is placed on the left hand side...but for a n/a car with a stillen pop charger will this work with the battery in the way or is it not worth it??? the way i figure it is any little bit of air flow helps ..thanks in advance
