Well having never taken my car to the track, and getting so ****ed that I only saw one max run at silver dollar raceway (Thank you shadow) Even though I saw several in the parking lot. In anycase, within the next week or two I'm gonna go to commerce on grudge night and run my stock 99 se 5spd max. What kinda times can I look for?
14.9-16.0 it all depends if you know how to launch the car without a lot of wheel hop.

Originally posted by Nealoc187 I was hoping to run a 15.2 the first time I took my max to the track. I ended up with a 14.8. I was excited.
That's a damnn good time for the 1/4. Was your max was bone stock down to the wheels and tires? What were the track conditions like and the elevation? I'm trying to figure out why I ran a 15.0 with all the mods i got

The wheels at that time were aftermarket 15" wheels and some crappy General all season tires. That combo is signifiantly heavier than the stock GXE wheel and tire combo. Elevation of the track is ~700 feet and conditions were hot and humid 85 deg and 70% humidity. Had I been able to run the car more times and in better conditions a 14.7 would have been easy... I didn't know jack about optimal shift points, etc. I only took it to the track once when I was stock. I had about 115K miles at the time.
Good luck at commerce, I'll be up there in about 3 weeks after I get the car running right again. I'm replacing the fuel filter, swapping out to colder plugs, checking the knock and O2 sensors, and a few other random things. I'm hoping for a decent time next time out.
