the manifold on:
spray TB cleaner...run engine
OR
do that top engine cleaner thing where u dip a vacume hose into the cleaning solution..etc etc
the manifold off the engine:
simple green or castrol super clean
use a wire brush
best is to do it w/ the manifold off the engine.

thanks for the input guys...I think I found an easy way to clean it a little bit at least...I just pulled my PCV valve out of my valve cover..still attached to the little hose...and it was really oily and sooty..so I took it off the hose and sprayed it with TB cleaner and got all the gunk out of it...I then re-inserted it into the hose and turned on my engine...I had my friend rev my engine to two grand...and I sprayed TB cleaner through the PCV valve until the can of TB cleaner was gone. I'll have to go take it on a test run to see how it worked.

Bri, maybe this thread will give you some more info.

I usuaully just spray a full can into my TB but if you check that thread out, there is a better way. You will also clean out teh EGR valve and prevent any problems down the road.
